Can You Help? (or: "The Begging Page")

© GP FutureThe GP Future campaign started in December 2005 and has continued since then on a part-time basis. We devote as much time to work on the campaign as we can but, as we are all employed full-time, it means that we can never devote enough time.

Tom Sykes, BSB 2008There is also the thorny issue of funding. We have assisted some riders where we can but we also want the campaign to survive. In order to do that, funds are needed to keep going. It is therefore vital that we maintain a "fighting fund". We are currently working on developing a budget ready for the 2008 season. Our financial needs are not great but we want to be able to cover the cost of owning and maintaining this site, publicity materials, transport, phone calls, etc.

To that end, we would like to hear from anyone who can offer assistance of any kind, financial or otherwise, whether it be:

We are not a professional organisation but we have adopted and maintained a professional approach from the outset. We are speaking with other professional groups, so maintaining a high level of presentation is vital. Unfortunately this comes at a cost. If we can find sponsors willing to assist, either financially or by way of providing services, this would help us tremendously.

We would also like to hear from organisations within the sport and the motorcycle industry who share our passion and who would like to become involved in some way. We are not looking for people to take over the campaign on our behalf; we are keen to run it ourselves. However, we are conscious that there are people who may be willing to provide advice for us or who have contacts they would be willing to share, for which we would be most grateful. We are also working on a Press release, to be issued in time for the start of the 2008 season. Any advice we recieve prior to this release will be considered for inclusion.

Finally (and we may be pushing our luck here); we would be particularly pleased to hear from any British high-profile riders, past or present, who would be willing to lend their name and support to the campaign. Acknowledging that a well-known face will always assist in getting a project off the ground, we would be very keen to hear from a rider willing to help us.
