Scott Redding - a name to watch

Scott ReddingGP Future has been watching the progress and publicity given to Scott Redding lately. The young Gloucestershire rider has made rapid progress since winning the Calypso Cup on a Metrakit 80cc bike. Ironically, that got him noticed in Spain and he was entered in the Red Bull Academy. His impressive record there got him a seat with the Spanish BQR Blu:Sens team, racing in the national CEV championship.

Scott will race a 125 Aprilia for Blu:Sens and will be based most of the season in Barcelona. His entry into the MotoGP competition was as a reward for winning the final three races and gaining runner-up place in the CEV championship.

His confidence is certainly encouraging. His aim is to "win the Rookie Cup and hopefully score a few world championship points." Next year he hopes to finish in the top five in some races with a view to moving on to the 250 championship or something the season after.

Scott ReddingHis manager, Roger Keys of FAB Racing, firmly believes Scott has the talent to become what Britain has been looking out for for so long – the next British MotoGP champion. He said: "He is a superb rider and seems immune to pressure but is also realistic about what is possible and the standard of competition he will be up against. He does not expect to be on the podium this season but I believe he will win a world championship – maybe even two world championships – while in his teens."

This would indeed be music to our ears and is at the very heart of what GP Future was formed for. We at GP Future would like to wish Scott the very best of luck and will be watching his progress with keen interest.
